Ole! Bloggiesta is Here!

Yes, it is that time of the year!  A time when you can take a weekend and work on your blog.  This year Bloggiesta is once again being hosted by Suey from It's All About Books and Danielle from There's A Book   Here is a great big Muchas Gracias to both of you for organizing and hosting this year's Bloggiesta.

Bloggiesta runs from Friday, March 22 to Sunday, March 24th so break out the chips and salsa and get yourself up to the Starting Line:

I have been waiting for Bloggiesta to do some work on The Children's War, so here is my To-Do List:

1- Write reviews for the books I have already read and the pile is getting higher.

2- Back up my blog.

3- Do some work on my other blog, Randomly Reading

4- Participate in the following challenges:

Organizing Reviews hosted by Lauren at Lose Time Reading using Excel, something I need a lot.  I don't have Excel, so I am going to try to do it on Google Docs.

I did manage to make this work in Google Docs, so I was very pleased.

Declutter Your Sidebar hosted by Debz at Debz Bookshelf

Google Reader Replacement Options hosted by Jenn from The Picky Girl.  I have already tried Bloglovin', Feedly and The Old Reader, but still haven't made up my mind about which I like best.

Happy Bloggiesta and see you Sunday!

  1. Alex it's amazing how quick it is to backup our blogs and yet most of us don't do it often enough LOL

Glad Lauren's challenge worked on Google Docs as that's what I was planning to use as I don't have Excel. I really should download Open Office which is a free Office alternative but I don't know if it's compatible with Macs. Maybe that's something that you should look into. I've worked with it before and it's very much similar to Microsoft's Office and it's totally free!

    1. Thanks for stopping by. As I told you, Google Docs really did work well and I was able to use color as Lauren did on her Excel spreadsheet. You have quite a list of to do goals and I forgeot I wanted to do some lable cleanup until I read your lists - thanks for the reminder and good luck with meeting your goals.

  2. Hmmmmm - my blog could use some work. I do want to add widgets that link to Pinterest, Twitter, etc. I've got to figure all that out.

Mostly I think my blog would be thrilled it I'd actually post something. Wish I were better at reviewing the books I read.

    1. I know what you mean - I have a pile of books that need a review written. I have been working a lot lately so I have fallen behind. Bloggiesta seemed a perfect time to try to catch up. Actually the linking widgets are hard - but they are really useful. I probably use them more than anyone to go from here to there.

  3. Good luck with all of your goals!!! What an interesting category for a blog! I've never heard about it before. Are you a teacher?

    1. Thanks, so far I am doing pretty well with my goals and I hope you are, too.

I was a teacher, but not anymore. Yes, I guess it is an unusual blog category but people seem to find it very interesting and useful.

    1. Thanks, Stephanie. I am not sure I have ever reached my goals completely in one weekend, but the to do list is good for reminding me about what I want to get done. I highly recommend backing up your blog, I know for me, it came in really handy once when something went wrong.

    1. Thanks, putting off writing reviews seems to be a universal thing among bloggers. It's always good to have a weekend to catch up. I will definitely come by and check out you list and mini challenge.

  7. Great list! I should have added back-up my blog to my own, but I will go do it anyway, since I've been deviating from my list all weekend, haha! I'm a new follower on GFC/Twitter :-)

  8. You know, I decluttered my sidebar, but I didn't even look at Debz minichallenge. I should probably hop on over there. :)
