I never thought I would be resurrecting The Children's War, but I have, albeit on a new platform and with a new name, and a slightly different focus. You will notice one major change on my Substack publication: I no longer write under my pen name Alex Baugh. Let's just say the reason for hiding behind a pen name has passed away. I chose Alex because I would have been Alexander had I been a boy and Alex seemed a nice neutral name, and Baugh is my mom's maiden name, so at least I felt I was somewhat myself.
Ordinary Courage: A WWII Reading Jouranl is a section of my main Substack, Kathryn Reads for Fun. And one of the differences between The Children's War and Ordinary Courage is that I will be exploring books for readers of all ages that focus on WWII instead of mainly sticking with books for kids and teens. For now, Ordinary Courage does not require a paid subscription, so I invite you all to check it out.
I'm still learning the ropes over at Substack, but I have just published a few reviews there. My first is a review of Maggie Stiefvater's debut adult novel called The Listeners.
It's an exciting new beginning and I hope you will join me there.
