Today I was nominated for this One Lovely Blog award from the always lovely Suzy Henderson. Suzy and I share an interest in World War II and I always feel so appreciated whenever I hear from her. So, thank you very much, Suzy.
But of course, this award comes with some requirements, namely

1- I have loved Mick Jagger ever since I first discovered The Rolling Stones.
2- I have voted in every election, including primaries, since I first registered to vote.
3- I always eat some chocolate after every meal.
4- I have never read a Little House on the Prairie books.
5- I still don't completely understand social media, but just really muddle along.
6- When I was in elementary school, I ate an egg salad sandwich every single day I went to school and it is still my favorite lunch.
7- I speak fluent pig latin

Well, I said the universe is in balance today and this is why. Today is also the first day of Book Blogger Appreciation Week and this year, there are no awards being given, but there a daily ways to participate. ReplyDeleteI never thought to ask you before but do you have any family members who served in either world war? If so are you able to share that history? I love listening to other people's stories. I only had my gran who was in the Women's Auxiliary Air force (WAAF). Sadly she passed away quite unexpectedly in 1980, a month away from her 60th birthday. I was just a child so I never really got to know her that well or to ask her about her service. I think this is partly what fuels my interest.

I'm so glad you love my blog (even though I need to get back in to the groove of posting regularly again -- maybe now that school has started) and you included me among these other wonderful bloggers. I've read Little House, but unlike most parents I'm not planning on reading it to my kids so I'm guessing they won't read it themselves, but who knows?
ReplyDeleteYour blog always brings a smile especially when you review NYC books (my personal favorite 'Storied City' and I have been looking through your What Do We Do All Day site and love it. Do you go to the Children's Literary Salon regularly? I haven't been in a while but plan on going back.
DeleteMost people think that what you do will have an effect on your future life, even after death; what you do will come back to you, etc. It is not true. Doing something, bad or good, to or for someone will not create the good and bad in your future life. It is balanced; it just happens no matter what you do. The balance makes everyone’s life fair, just, equal and perfect, but it is not influenced by any actions you take, good or bad. You are never a victim of anyone. Everything that happens is always life creating balance. Your only choice is to see it for what it is, or not see it.
