HAPPY NEW YEAR
That Blitz diary sounds fascinating! Short, but intense.
ReplyDeletelooks like a nice list for Santa to choose from. Thanks for stopping by and have a nice holiday.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex, for picking up on the Barnes book. It is worth reading, despite devastating essay in Sunday's NY Time! I have enjoyed our exchanges, and reading your blog in 2011, and look forward to more in 2012. Meantime, have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices Alex, hope you get them.

smellincoffee, the Blitz Diary is short, but there are three volumes, all fascinating. They can be read online at http://womanlondonblitz.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteKaye, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a nice holiday, too.
Dorothy, I read the NYT piece, too, but too many others thought so much about Barnes book, that I kind of discounted it until I read it for myself. I also enjoyed your blog post on it. I hope you also have a great holiday.
Zohar, thanks, I liked these choices too. Happy Hannukah!
I do SO adore Horace Rumpole!
ReplyDeleteI've bought the Barnes book for myself.
