I especially loved her Back Home, which is about a girl coming home from America to the UK just after the war. The war and the postwar years are the subject of a lot of her fiction. I really love her work.Susan Lynn Meyerhttp://www.susanlynnmeyer.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966330143385469554.post-56407332378364545092013-03-15T19:42:45.420-04:002013-03-15T19:42:45.420-04:00I have never read this one, and it seems a shame I...I have never read this one, and it seems a shame I missed it. I don't like to see children or animals suffering either, but the book doesn't go into detail about it. I also liked John Thaw in the movie version and still haven't read the last Inspector Morse book because I don't want it to end. Still, he was a great Mr. TomAlexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15988251415347075888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966330143385469554.post-91272143172504593712013-03-15T09:15:06.798-04:002013-03-15T09:15:06.798-04:00Oh, this is a really good story, and after reading...Oh, this is a really good story, and after reading it, you can see a movie version that was on Masterpiece Theater a few years ago, with John Thaw (who played Inspector Morse on Masterpiece Mystery). I'm pretty sure you can get it in the library.
