I hope you enjoy it when you read it. It should be right up your alley.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15988251415347075888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966330143385469554.post-25951979014428188492012-06-27T08:48:54.378-04:002012-06-27T08:48:54.378-04:00I used to love walking around Yorkville when the o...I used to love walking around Yorkville when the old German stores and restaurants were still here. Now it has lost all its personality and charm. I always like the history part of the books I read when it is done well and it was in this one. This story is a mystery- which I love and I always enjoy books about this time period. I think the cover is well done. I love that you included a photo of the area. This sounds like a really good YA read, and also a look into a fascinating bit of NY history. The picture of the Bund on 86th Street is amazing. Of course, I remember when 86th was still very German, with Cafe Geiger, the Bremen House etc. -- but no longer the Bund, happily!Dorothy Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17199627468549426478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966330143385469554.post-10648385328401630182012-06-26T08:25:09.104-04:002012-06-26T08:25:09.104-04:00This was good. I actually have found some vampire stories set during WW2, I just haven't read them yet - maybe one of these days.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15988251415347075888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3966330143385469554.post-20728945247393993822012-06-26T08:22:21.143-04:002012-06-26T08:22:21.143-04:00Yes, I agree, it is nice to read YA without vampir...Yes, I agree, it is nice to read YA without vampires. I don't read YA all that much anymore, but it is always nice to see a new YA book that isn't about vampires, lol!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
